This precious porcelain figurine is made in the shape of a near life-size cat and is painstakingly hand painted in a naturalistic manner.

Matreial porcelain. Manufacturing technique fine hand painting in black, white, gold & multi-colored enamels over the glaze. Condition very good original as found condition with abrasions to the paintwork mainyl to the gold color. No restoration! Inspired by the famous sleeping cats in japanese art, this model was manufactured by the gebruder heubach company of germany in the period between 1909 and 1910. Depicted is a near life-size and actually very lifelike cat. The kitten is shown in a curled up posture, resting on the ground. Her sweet face shows us she is sleeping peacefully. Her facial features and fur are hand painted with superior artistic skills with a color range of soft lilac & brown to gold and the singular fur hairs delicately rendered. Teh colorful ribbon is additionally adorned with two little bells. The gebrudre heubach porcelain company was founded in 1822 in lichte, germany. Thye produced luxury porcelains, dolls and doll heads and after 1898 began with the production of superior animal sculptures. Many important artists fo the period worked for heubach and the quality of their animal figurines was put on a level with the products of the nymphenburg company.
